LaToya Warren, MPA, MSW, began her role as Sr. V.P. of Achieva Resource on November 8, 2021. Warren, born and raised in Pittsburgh, brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the organization. Most recently, Warren was also employed by Allegheny County as the Deputy Director for Administration for the Department of Human Services (DHS). Her previous roles with DHS include Assistant Deputy Director for Forensic Services and Assistant Deputy Director for the DHS Executive Office. Before joining DHS, Warren held the positions of Policy and Planning Administrator and Deputy Warden with the Allegheny County Bureau of Corrections.
Warren earned her Master of Public Administration, Master of Social Work, and Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh.
Warren will report to Gary Horner, Executive V.P. and Chief Financial Officer for Achieva and President of Achieva Resource. She will plan, develop, implement, and maintain Achieva’s administrative services and departments and other strategic priorities, special projects, and cross-organizational initiatives.
Kurt R. Emmerling, M.Ed, NCC, LPC, comes to Achieva from Allegheny County DHS. He served as the Deputy Director for the Allegheny County Department of Human Services Area Agency on Aging (AAA). Emmerling joined the Achieva Family Trust (AFT) on October 4, 2021, as the Director of Strategic Operations. He has worked more than 25 years in the human services field and has many years of experience in geriatrics, behavioral health, and education. He is also a licensed and nationally board-certified mental health counselor and completed his education at the Duquesne University School of Professional Counseling.
Kurt grew up in Brentwood and lived in Pittsburgh all of his life.
Emmerling will oversee the development and implementation of plans for the future strategic direction and successful operation of Achieva Family Trust under Amy Dolan Strano, Senior Vice President of Achieva and President of Achieva Family Trust.
