Pittsburgh, PA—Achieva, a leader in providing services and support to people with disabilities, has announced its participation in highlighting National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) this October. Through its Business Services initiative, Achieva is dedicated to assisting businesses in meeting their hiring needs by helping people with disabilities find meaningful employment that matches their skills, interests, and talents.
“Achieva is proud to be part of this year’s National Disability Employment Awareness Month,” said Steve Suroviec, President and CEO of Achieva. “At Achieva, we believe everyone who wants to work should have the opportunity to contribute through paid employment. Our Competitive-Integrated Employment program strengthens relationships between employers and job seekers, ensuring we provide the necessary support for success.”
Achieva’s
Competitive-Integrated Employment (CIE) program serves people with disabilities with an individualized approach. The program is built on the philosophy that everyone has the right to pursue work that aligns with their talents and should be paid competitive wages. Achieva works intensively with job seekers to find good jobs and develop the skills required to meet the employer’s needs. Achieva’s employment specialists remain engaged, offering continuous support to both job seekers and employers, ensuring mutual success.
Achieva’s Business Services initiative works with businesses that recognize that people with disabilities are a largely untapped workforce cohort. Achieva will work with a company’s human resources team to assist in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding talent with disabilities. Achieva will also serve as an expert in arranging for publicly-funded job coaching, customized job development, and ADA accommodations so that new hires with disabilities can thrive in their jobs.
