(Pittsburgh, PA) — March 16, 2019 — ACHIEVA, a local nonprofit that provides lifelong supports for people with disabilities and their families, is holding its annual “Pittsburgh Promenade” auction, featuring emcee Kelly Sasso, of WTAE news on Saturday, March 16, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. The auction, held at the 4-star Westin Convention Center, 1000 Penn Ave, Pittsburgh, will help to ensure that people with disabilities live full and productive lives in their homes and communities by raising the funds necessary to receive the care and support they need.
Over 325 attendees will enjoy a delicious meal and opportunities to bid on enticing auction items, with all proceeds supporting ACHIEVA’s mission. This year’s “Fund the Mission” event, which asks attendees to make donations live during the promenade and updates gift totals in real time, will go to the Cecil and David Rosenthal Memorial Fund. Dave Tinker, Vice President of Advancement at ACHIEVA, announced recently, "The Rosenthal Family has generously offered to donate the first $10,000 for the Cecil and David Rosenthal Memorial Fund during the event. If we are able to raise $20,000 in addition to their gift, the Rosenthal Family will contribute an additional gift of $10,000."
The Rosenthal Fund has received gifts in excess of $100,000. The Fund will be used to support community engagement activities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. "It's comforting to know that the memory of my brothers will live on through the Memorial Fund, helping people with intellectual or developmental disabilities find and keep good jobs in their community and pursue meaningful activities that are important to them" said Michele Rosenthal, sister of Cecil and David Rosenthal.
