[Pittsburgh, PA] - Achieva, a leading nonprofit supporting people with disabilities and their families, proudly announces the launch of its $15 million Beyond Boundaries fundraising campaign. This initiative will expand Achieva’s reach, strengthen its infrastructure, and secure long-term sustainability to meet the growing needs of people with disabilities and their families.

The campaign was unveiled at Achieva’s annual Pittsburgh Promenade gala, which featured a Starry Night theme—a symbolic nod to the Beyond Boundaries title and the campaign’s aim to unlock limitless potential. The evening included remarks from Campaign Chair, Bill Demchak, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PNC Financial Services. He shared why he supported the campaign and introduced a powerful video highlighting Achieva’s impact.

“This campaign reflects Achieva’s commitment to removing barriers,” said Demchak. “It’s about empowering people with disabilities to live fuller, more independent lives while securing the resources needed to sustain this mission for years to come.”

The Achieva Effect

Achieva serves more than 10,000 Pennsylvanians annually, empowering people with disabilities to live with dignity and independence. The Beyond Boundaries campaign will build on this legacy, funding critical priorities such as:

  • Program Expansion and Innovation – Expanding existing programs like parenting education and special needs trusts, growing its employment program for people with disabilities, and launching new initiatives such as a local home transition model for children with complex medical needs and a Center for Supportive Decision-Making.
  • Infrastructure Investments – Installing generators in community homes, upgrading case management information systems, and enhancing smart home technology to increase independence and safety.
  • Organizational Sustainability – Growing the Blanco Family Fund for Advocacy and Family Support and expanding the Future Fund to respond quickly to urgent needs and opportunities.
To date, Achieva has already secured more than $10.1 million toward the campaign’s $15 million goal, thanks to the generosity of its Trustees, local foundations, Achieva employees, and individual donors.

“Achieva’s work changes lives every day,” said Steve Suroviec, Achieva President and CEO. “This campaign is about ensuring that even more people with disabilities have the opportunity to lead lives of personal significance. Your support will make a real and lasting difference.”

Achieva invites the community to join the Beyond Boundaries campaign and help break through the limitations that have long held people with disabilities back.
