Achieva’s annual Pittsburgh Promenade on Saturday, March 23, transformed the night into a Hollywood affair benefitting Achieva’s programs. The “Fund the Mission” portion of the evening supported the Cecil and David Rosenthal Memorial Fund (the Fund), red carpet style.

Guests were deeply moved by a video showcasing a popular use of the Fund: hippotherapy, an innovative approach to physical therapy involving interactions with horses. Both a grateful family, who have directly experienced the transformative effects of this therapy, and Michele Rosenthal, sister of David and Cecil, eloquently expressed the profound impact of equine therapy on their lives. Michele emphasized, “Beyond supporting activities like equine therapy, donations also open doors to a range of other enriching opportunities such as access to iPads, tickets to sporting events or concerts, and various social activities to have integrated community experiences.” Nearly $18,000 was raised for the Fund during the portion of the evening.

Overall, a remarkable $190,000 was raised in support of Achieva’s charitable mission.  “This year, Achieva’s supporters and community partners really came through during our annual Pittsburgh Promenade. With their support, Achieva will continue providing quality and innovative services to assist people with disabilities lead lives of personal significance.,” said Steve Suroviec, Achieva President and CEO.

The event dazzled attendees with basket raffles, a lively auction, and the heartfelt generosity of individual donations. Adding to the excitement, two fortunate winners emerged from the cash raffle—trustee Lisa Martinelli, and John Briggs, who claimed victory in not just one, but the top two prizes of the evening’s cash drawings.

We sincerely thank our event sponsors, guests, and friends whose unwavering support made the Pittsburgh Promenade a glamorous and resounding success!
