During The Arc of Pennsylvania’s recent Advocacy & Policy Day at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Harrisburg, Nancy Murray, Senior Vice President of Achieva and President of The Arc of Greater Pittsburgh at Achieva, received The Arc of Pennsylvania “M.J. Bartelmay, Jr. Excellence in Advocacy Award.”
M.J. was a past president of The Arc of Pennsylvania. He was highly active in the disability advocacy community, having served at the national, state, and local levels of The Arc. He served as both a treasurer and secretary of The Arc of the United States and was appointed by Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett in 2013 to the State Board of Vocational Rehabilitation.
Nancy Murray was honored for her advocacy and grassroots impact on the supports and services of people with disabilities.
